Two Saturdays Ago, I learned the meaning of Flag Day. I thought we would just stay a a booth and sell the flags of different countries, but no. Instead we had to stand in the freezing hours(couldn't feel my fingers) of the morning, trying to get a donation for the salvation army, (which is not too hard to do, even if you don't speak Cantonese. Just hold up the bag, ask in english and they'd probably know what to do). After awhile, We learned to stay by the bus drop off and ask people as they came off. But other people figured that out too, so there would be a "feeding frenzy" (or asking frenzy) everytime a bus came in. Here is a picture I took of Jason Lo waiting on a bus...technical difficulties...
Well, I learned that service means sacrifice. I didn't only sacrifice one or two hours. Those lost hours Muliplied.(I run a tight schedule) I slept late for the next few nights finishing homework I was supposed to do then. I guess I also learned that you should really make more time for service.
